Community Services

Native animals – We treat all native animals free of charge from birds to koalas. Wherever possible we either release them back to where they came from once well enough or send them to a carer so they can be cared for and rehabilitated to transition back to the wild.

School talksWe have been giving school talks since 2004 free of charge to our local schools, kindergartens and preschools educating children about owning a pet, caring for pets and how to safely interact with pets. The main aim of our talks is to reduce dog bites In the community. We have seen more than 20 thousand children and will continue to spread the message to keep children and pets safe.

Junior vetWe offer a school holiday programme to all kids who love animals. We give them a day in the life of a vet were they get to work with our special animal helpers and perform a variety of tasks with them. We have a few fun surprises up our sleeves to keep in interesting. We do ages 5-9 and 10-13 years old and we offer special classes for children with disabilities who may need a carer. Our love of sharing our knowledge with all these children is evident by the smiles on their faces. The whole day is recorded in photos that we share on facebook so that the families can see those first steps to becoming a vet. Junior vet is available in the July school holidays – see facebook.
